If you are covered for health or dental benefits under your spouse’s benefit plan, you can coordinate with your GSC benefits to receive up to 100% coverage by accessing both plans.

GSC Plan Member – John Smith (Birthday: September 1, 1970)
Spouse – Anne Smith (Birthday: December 10, 1968)
Dependent – Baby Smith
John was born earlier in the calendar year than Anne, so they should submit Baby’s claim to GSC first. If they were both born on the same day of the year, first they should submit the claim to the plan of the parent whose initial comes first in the alphabet.
Always remember:
Include a copy of the Explanation of Benefits statement received from GSC, as well as a photocopy of the originally submitted claim form, when you coordinate.
