GSC partners with HALEO Clinic (HALEO)

press release

Poor sleep can have a significant impact on mental and physical health, resulting in an increased risk of depression, anxiety disorders, addiction, and negative effects on immune system disorders, pain management, memory, and much more.

Knowing that the cost of sleep disorders results in lost days from work (absenteeism) and lost productivity when at work (presenteeism), we’re pleased to share that GSC’s partnership with HALEO will provide plan sponsors with access to clinically-proven solutions to effectively screen, diagnose, and treat sleep disorders, improving the health and productivity of their workforce.

Approximately 1.8 million Canadians work shifts between midnight and 5am. This represents around 12 percent of working Canadians. And 28 percent (4.1 million) of the 14.6 million employed Canadians worked something other than a regular day shift.1 50 per cent of Canadians are living with symptoms of insomnia – regardless of their work schedule, and while shift workers are more likely to be struggling with poor sleep and the impacts of it, HALEO works with plan sponsors in all sectors.

The use of medication alone does not resolve the underlying root cause of sleep disorders. The number one recommended treatment is cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I). HALEO is a virtual sleep clinic that leverages a proprietary therapy ecosystem to virtually deliver a five-week CBT-I protocol using a clinical-first approach, with a 90 per cent adherence rate compared to less than 65 percent for conventional interventions and less than 50 per cent for digital therapeutics. HALEO drives high organizational utilization with proven clinical efficacy on anxiety and depression.

More information will be shared about HALEO’s program in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, reach out to your account team if you’re interested in learning more about what HALEO offers.
